Cost For My Service

I work on a Reward Basis… That means you pay me what it's worth to you and what you can afford, for me to come out and find your lost item. There will be a call out fee of $25.00 to cover my gas expenses if the item isn't found.

Only land searches at this time...Yards, parks, beach but not water...

Search Locations

Springfield and the surrounding areas, I'm not restricted to any particular area - I'd likely accept requests from anywhere in northern or central VA outside this area call to discuss my gas fees.

Doug Stickley's Bio

I'm 60 years old, and semi-retired, after 24 years in the Army and a shorter career as a defense contractor. I spent many years stationed in Germany, which is where I really got involved in detecting, starting about 30 years ago. As I'll probably go back to work full- or part-time, this will be a 'part-time' hobby for me. My best finds to date include a lost US high school ring, returned by me to its owner after about 50 years in the ground in Germany; a 300-year old metal sealing wax stamp, donated by me to a museum in Heidelberg, Germany; and various items, including an old pocket watch and a pair of brass knuckles, found on the site of a small battlefield in Germany (at which my uncle, an 18 year old US Army infantryman, went listed as 'Missing in Action' in 1945). I find metal detecting both relaxing and challenging. I've owned several detectors over the years, and currently use a Garrett.
